Shelbi lives and writes in rural South Dakota with her pastor husband and three almost-grown kids. After a 25-year hiatus from college, she returned to earn her B.A. in English and an MFA in Creative Nonfiction. She now teaches English Composition online for her undergrad alma mater. When she's not reading or writing about writing, she's chronicling life in "flyover country" and telling the stories of its land and its people. Shelbi is a firm believer in mid-life reinventions, the importance of place, and the art of paying attention.
